Who We Are

Our service is an independent online loan-request platform that connects U.S. consumers looking for personal loans of $500 to $5,000 with independent lenders. We are not a lender, and we never make credit decisions.

When you fill out our free request form, we pass the details you share to lenders in our network that may be able to review a request like yours. Any offer you see comes from a lender, not from us. The lender sets the rate, the term, the fees and the final decision, and the loan agreement is between you and that lender.

About 26,000 customers have used the request form so far, and borrowers have rated the experience an average of 4.7 out of 5 across 1,040 ratings. Those numbers reflect the request process: how clear the form was, how quickly people heard back, and how easy offers were to understand.

Our Mission

Our mission is to make borrowing a small amount less confusing by giving people one free place to request offers, plus plain-English guides that help them judge whether an offer actually fits their budget.

A $1,200 car repair or a $2,500 deposit on a new apartment rarely arrives at a convenient time. Searching lender by lender, re-entering the same information, and trying to compare offers that use different terms is stressful. We built the request form to cut that work down to a few minutes, and we built the guides on our personal loan blog so readers can understand APRs, fees and repayment before they accept anything.

How We Make Money

Lenders in our network may pay us a referral fee when a borrower connects with them, and that fee funds the site. Borrowers never pay us anything to submit a request, review offers, or read our guides.

Because lenders compensate us, we explain the relationship openly in our advertiser disclosure. Referral fees do not change what you are charged by a lender, and they do not influence what our editors write. Submitting the request form creates no obligation to accept any offer, and declining an offer costs you nothing.

What We Do and What We Don't Do

We collect your loan request, share it with lenders that may be able to help, and publish educational guides; we do not lend money, approve applications, set rates, or service loans after they fund.

What we do

  • Offer a free, secure request form for personal loans from $500 to $5,000.
  • Share your request with independent lenders that may review it.
  • Publish guides, payment estimates and a glossary so you can compare offers on your own terms.
  • Answer questions about the request process by email and phone.

What we don't do

  • We do not make loans, approve or deny applications, or promise any rate, amount or funding time.
  • We do not charge borrowers fees of any kind.
  • We do not see or change a lender's decision, and we cannot access your account with a lender.
  • We do not offer debt management plans, credit counseling or credit repair.

Our Independence Statement

Our service is independent and is not affiliated with any nonprofit credit counseling agency that has a similar name; we are a for-profit loan-request service, and we do not offer counseling or debt management plans.

Some readers arrive after a greenpath debt search or after reading a greenpath review about a counseling organization. If you are looking for nonprofit credit counseling or a debt management plan, we are not that organization. A good place to start is an NFCC-member agency, which can review your budget and debts without requiring a loan.

Our Editorial Team

Three editors write and check every guide and estimate on the site, and each brings hands-on experience from consumer lending, credit union member services, or consumer finance data analysis.

  • Dana Whitfield, Senior Editor, Consumer Lending. Dana has written about consumer credit for 11 years and previously worked in installment-loan servicing, handling payment-plan and hardship calls. She focuses on how loans are priced and repaid.
  • Marcus Ellery, Credit and Budgeting Writer. Marcus spent 8 years as a credit union member-services representative, helping members read loan disclosures and build budgets. He covers credit scores, budgeting and debt payoff.
  • Priya Natarajan, Personal Finance Analyst. Priya builds the payment estimates and rate explainers on the site and checks the numbers in every guide. Her background is in consumer finance data analysis.

Every figure our editors publish is an estimate. For example, our representative example is $2,000 borrowed for 12 months at 24.99% APR, about $190.08 per month and $2,280.94 total repaid, with no fees included. Your actual offer depends on the lender, your credit profile, your income and your state.

Contact Our Team

You can reach our team by email at [email protected] or by phone at (888) 927-0509, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Pacific, and we answer email within one business day.

Our mailing address is 2180 Maple Drive, Suite 653, Olympia, WA 98501. For questions about an existing loan, such as a payment date or balance, please contact your lender directly, since we cannot see lender accounts.
